The proctologist I saw subjected me to a gloved finger rectal examination, not my best day. To make matters worse he decided to give me a more thorough examination using an anoscope. If you don't know, an anoscope is a long, hollow, metal tube that is inserted into the anus and into the rectum. This allows the proctologist to inspect for the existence of internal hemorrhoids. When the results came back he said that I indeed had a hemorrhoids (thanks Doc), and he wrote me up a slip for a prescription strength suppository. I later found out that these creams and supposities recommended by doctors NEVER fix the root issue. What was actually causing my problem would turn out to be something else.

A few months later it had become very clear to me that my suppositories were not working. To make matters worse, the ITCHING was more unbearable than ever. Not to be gross, but I often woke up in the middle of the night having to scratch and scratch and unrelenting itchy feeling down there.

Home Remedies and Alternative Treatments

Out of desperation I decided to try less traditional alternative and "home remedies".
